Tengtian builds spiral pipe plants for system integrators, with the key contract terms set out clearly: scope closure, five engineers for a forty-day commissioning period, and acceptance when two different sizes each run continuously and smoothly for four hours.
Commissioning, Acceptance and the Standards We Sign To
- Commissioning: five engineers, forty days.
- Acceptance: two sizes, four hours each, continuous and smooth.
- Manufacturing cycle: 120 or 150 days by configuration.
- Inspection chain: X-ray 225 kVA, 1200-tonne hydrostatic tester, offline ultrasonic — weld 100%, HAZ 25 mm each side, body coverage ≥35%.
- Standards: GB/T 9711 for both configurations; API 5L on the 1620 line.
Programme Scope and Who It Is For
The typical buyer is a pipeline-project equipment integrator or regional agent building a plant for an end customer, valuing whole-line closure — main machine plus finishing plus bought-in ancillaries — deployable installation and commissioning, and the ability to align to a project standard and be accepted against it.
The purchase trigger is a large-diameter order the existing straight-seam mill cannot cover; the switching trigger is an existing spiral line whose inspection configuration is incomplete and therefore cannot certify pipe.
Buyers weigh whether the supply scope closes, the commissioning terms and the acceptance standard, and the decision sits with a project or technical lead.
Configuration Tiers and What Each Tier Includes
The 1620 line carries edge milling with a Ф500 cutter head at up to 190 m/min, outer-double inner-single submerged arc welding with Lincoln DC-1500 and AC-1250 power sources, and a finishing train of X-ray at 225 kVA, a 1200-tonne hydrostatic tester and offline ultrasonic inspection. For this family the tiers are the two machine configurations.
The 820 line is specified with outer-single inner-single welding, a domestic welding power source and a lighter finishing set.
Above that, we supply turnkey lines or single units, with pricing tiered by configuration to reflect scope.
Commercial Terms: Lead Time, Payment and Incoterms
Payment is flexible — 30% deposit against 70% before shipment, third-party escrow and staged payment available, multiple trade terms supported. Heavy large-diameter units ship bare with lifting points, which lowers packing cost but requires professional lifting and rust protection on arrival.
Territory, Support and Spare-Parts Supply
Spares — spiral-specific consumables are a supply commitment in their own right: submerged arc wire and flux, plasma torch tips, edge-milling inserts, forming and pressure rolls in GCr15 at HRC 56–60 and 42CrMo at HRC 52–58, facing tools with twelve clamping dies, ultrasonic probes and reference blocks, and the X-ray tube. Territory and MOQ — available on request.
Service lives are available on request.
Support — one contact, round-the-clock response, online support, engineers dispatched on site, installation and commissioning included.
The Inspection Chain an Integrator Is Actually Buying
X-ray inspection at 225 kVA covers 225 kV and 8 mA with maximum penetration of 40 mm of steel and static sensitivity of 0.8 to 1.2 per cent, at inspection speeds of 0.5 to 10 m/min.
The hydrostatic tester is a 1200-tonne machine with a 31.5 MPa high-pressure pump, a Φ800 main cylinder and four tension beams at a safety factor of four, with computer monitoring and printed records.
Offline ultrasonic inspection covers 100 per cent of the weld, 25 mm each side of the heat-affected zone and at least 35 per cent of the pipe body, at 0.5 to 15 MHz with signal-to-noise above 28 dB, false calls no more than 2 per cent and zero missed calls on the sample pipe.
The failure mode behind all three is the same: calibration drift or poor coupling produces missed and false calls and non-compliant pipe leaving the plant — which is precisely the risk an integrator is contracted against.
For a pipeline project the finishing train is the reason the line is chosen, and it comes with quantified acceptance indices rather than as a feature list.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the dealer/partner programme include?
Payment is 30/70 with escrow and staged payment available. For integrators the content is scope, commissioning and acceptance rather than a partner agreement: turnkey or single-unit supply, five engineers for forty days, and acceptance on two sizes each running continuously and smoothly for four hours.
What is the minimum order and how are territories allocated?
Both are agreed case by case.
What are typical lead times and payment terms?
Delivery is 50 to 90 days; the spiral manufacturing cycle is 120 or 150 days by configuration; commissioning is forty days. These are three different periods and we do not add them.
Which configuration tiers are available and what changes between them?
The 820 and 1620 configurations. What changes: edge preparation, welding power source and the finishing and inspection train. The 1620 line adds edge milling, an outer-double inner-single weld arrangement, X-ray, a 1200-tonne hydrostatic tester and offline ultrasonic inspection.
How are spare parts and rolls supplied after handover?
Spiral lines are consumable-intensive and we treat continuous supply as a distinct commitment: wire and flux by welding tonnage, torch tips and milling inserts by cutting and milling volume, with rolls machined in-house on our own CNC.
What technical and marketing support do partners receive?
Technical: one contact, round-the-clock response, online support, on-site dispatch, and installation and commissioning included. Please contact us to discuss marketing support.
Ssaw pipe plant integrator
Four things an integrator can put into a project schedule now: five engineers, forty days commissioning, acceptance on two sizes for four hours each, and a manufacturing cycle of 120 or 150 days by configuration. The fifth — scope closure for a specific configuration — comes with the quotation.
Spiral welded pipe line standards
Both spiral configurations are built to GB/T 9711, with X-ray and ultrasonic acceptance chapters referencing GB/T 9711-2017. The 1620 line additionally lists API 5L as an execution standard with ultrasonic inspection configured to API SPEC 5L (46th edition). X-ray image quality is specified to ISO 10893-7 single-wall class B and GB/T 26830-2011.
